Wawa bits

Warsaw, how does one describe it? Many people have asked why I live here, when I could live anywhere really on earth. Fact is, it is actually a beautiful place. It is a European capital, so in parts it feels like Berlin or Paris, other times it can feel like downtown Grozny circa 2003. However, that is the beauty. Warsaw is multifaceted, it should be called "the onion" of a city. As, every time you pull off one layer you find another, different, and independent of the previous. Beauty is everywhere, if you get the time in the day to slow your pace, look up, look down, and absorb your surroundings. Here are some varying bits. :)

Hello Designers!

Some time back, there was a display of Young Polish Designers in the old Traffic book store which at times is also a food market. It was interesting to see all the new designs and what people think is cool now. There are lots of interesting things to see, although many things as well that are what I would call "common design". Things that just have this specific look. I also liked the fact that many of the people that attended dressed in such similar manners. It made me giggle.

from tables to blankets and light globes. Quite a variety.

It is always nice to see new ideas and people proud to see Polish designs rather than looking for something more glamorous and international. If you get the chance, check out some Polish brands and see what you think. Some of the things are great and really well made.
