Wiltshire, England

When in the Western part of the UK we drifted around Wiltshire for a few days, seeing the sights and enjoying the country lifestyle. Lots of pretty meadows and spaces around. Quaint villages and historic ruins.

The sheep loved this stone, as a place to scratch their butts. They are lining up here to do it. The stone was really smooth with activity and lanolin.

And back to the pub in Lacock.

Lacock, Wiltshire, England.

The town of Lacock is well known in the UK - not because it was mentioned in the Doomsday book, or because it is mostly owned by the National Trust - but it has been filmed for numerous films and TV series. People probably don't know that they have actually seen it though. That is often the funniest part. We stayed a short drive down a country lane away from it, which meant we could miss all the bus tours and enjoy the town early in the morning and later in the evening when it is empty, peaceful and radiant. A really pretty place. And the pub meals and pints aren't bad either.

My series of doors, handles and knockers grew a little here.

I'm still obsessed by the oddness of old school glass doors. From the UK to Italy to Spain I find them great.

Another trip to the "East side" of Poland. A place that always seems to have been positively changing for 7 years now, even though the living standard, apparently, hasn't improved. Don't tell that to all the BMW, Audi and Volvo drivers out there though. So let's have a look at nature instead.

Cloudy dayz

I really like clouds, at Easter time I was able to get out for a little stroll about and take a few pictures before I got too cold in the "fresh" weather.

Luckily warmer days appear upon us..... fingers crossed. Or "trzy mam kciuki" hold your thumbs, in Polish.

Striding around Sokółka

Time to duck out of the capital for a while to hit the highs of the Eastern border region. Poking around the recently harvested fields and enjoying some stormy weather, is always a fun thing.

Strolling around we found on the fringes of the field some unharvested grains

They were from several seasons, some obviously self sown.

I think, but am not sure, they are oats, buckwheat and barley.....anyone able to help here?
