Siciliy - Doors of Modica.

As some of you may know, I have a bit of a fascination with doors and door handles, knobs and knockers. Around Sicily you can find some fantastic examples of doors. Sounds stupid I know, but I enjoy them. Here is a collection from Modica, a place where you can stumble around a winding street only to turn a corner and see some great door, peeling paint, rusted hinges, but the fact an unloved door is standing and still attractive is amazing.

Let the doors of Modica start.

Let's rock this last day in Modica, a cool little town. Made of chocolate, old buildings, cats and churches. Or so the photos would suggest.

Siciliy - Caltagirone and Modica.

On the road from our first few days staying at the foot of Etna, down to the world that is Caltagirone. A town famous for its pottery works and tiles. After there, we progressed to the next place to stay Modica, home of ancient chocolate recipes and crazy back alleys.

Not one for the vegetarians and vegans, but one for food lovers, this is Cavallo one of the main reasons I go back to Italy. Horse meat, it is a divine pleasure. And a panini for €2 you can't go wrong.

The Giardino Publico has the great mosaic gazebo in the middle.

Then onto Modica, where our apartment had this really cool view.

I love all the terracotta roof work in Sicily.
