Post 500! Park life

Well, I have been super lazy of late. The really crappy weather has got me down, I haven't photographed much and with the political scene at the moment I haven't really felt too in love with Poland to be perfectly honest. So, I held off on doing anything on here at all. Who knows, maybe this will be the last year of this blog. It may even be the last post! Who knows?!

Today with the sunshine the public holiday and the chance to get off the couch we went to one of our local parks, a beautiful place and a dog paradise.

In the Royal Baths

Łazienki park is the "The Royal Baths" if translated, that said, there is no bath there for the public to enjoy, but it is however still a lovely place for a stroll and on weekends in summer it can be heaving with people. They also like to have events each year to celebrate the space that is there. This year they have been doing the Royal Łazienki Music Festival which has had numerous contributors. Last weekend I got to see Genso (Japanese drumming) and Marcin Masecki (remixed Mazurkas, a tradiational song in Poland). Luckily I saw it before the storm went crazy :D

So in Summer, the Łazienki Gardens opened a new Chinese pavillion and garden that was in part donated by the Chinese government and was used to recreate the feeling a previous king had desired as he also had a Chinese garden at one stage.

We just had photos of the gardens in the day, so let's see some on the opening night of the garden. Also, a big thank you to all the mosquitoes for turning out on mass. They really celebrated the night hard. I am sure they had some intense blood hangovers the next morning.

So after all the mosquitoes, there there was a ghoul about! Time to run home!
