Watchet, Somerset, UK.

Our last stop on our trip to the UK for May in 2017 was.... Watchet..
The amazing Pebbles Tavern. The only place to go for cider ever! They have crazy good cider, and a variety that cannot be matched.
The Watchet Station House, just next to the local Indian takeaway.
A great local initiative about the history of the area, from vikings to dinosaurs.

Why caption this? 'Tis pretty obvious.
but you see it is all made up of tiny hand made children's tiles.
The harbour.
Harbour mudflat
Lovin' a bit of sea fog in the morning.
Down low in the harbour.

Continuing our sand collections, this time harbour muddy sand. Hard when it is wet... but we still have it.
When buildings think they are Popeye.

Glastonbury and Frome, Somerset, UK.

Driving down from Lacock, to the south coast, we went through Frome. Frome is a pretty little town with some cool second hand shops, historical sites, interesting street art, and a really good coffee place Moo and Two although I am sure they would prefer to be called a tea shop. So good in fact, I had two coffees!

If a shop is abandoned why not decorate the window?
Seems corny.
I almost see a face here....
These are always so tempting....
St Johns Church

From the window seat at Moo and Two.

I love natures intrusions on our otherwise grey landscape.
After Frome we continued on down the trails to Glastonbury.
We climbed to the top of the Tor. The Glastonbury Tor also has a grisly past. Abbot Richard Whiting was executed here in 1549. Glastonbury Tor is also known as being one of the most spiritual sites in the country. Its pagan beliefs are still very much celebrated. You will notice some of the few remaining hippies of the world here!
Almost there.
Quite a view amongst the hippies, pagans and other day trippers.
some were too tired, others needed love.
The view, I have now figured out what makes the ticking sound and fixed it, I didn't know then.

A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. Day three.

So the last day is upon us, and again, we must start with some food. Some lovely Gallego ham, local cheese and eggs plus fresh bread, what could go wrong? Nothing. That is the point, it was a great start to the day.

First stop was a picnic with Picasso. He lived in A Coruña for 4 years while his father was a professor at the Fine Arts School. This is is the start of a tour through his apartment which you can visit for free!
After accidentally ringing bells for a couple of other apartments we found the right one.

The view down the street.
His old camera and papers.

His living room, oh no wait, it is some dolls house toys.

Old school light switches are pretty cool, no?
The way back down.

I love that nature will always sneak back in to these concrete jungles of ours.

Another fantastic warning sign.

The world of liqueurs, coffee and herbal. Nice at lunchtime ;)

One of the world's greatest delights Pulpo!
On our first morning we found a fabulous cafe Abarrote. I cannot recommend it high enough. Great coffee, the best I found in Galicia, and when you order one for breakfast you get a shot of OJ and something small, cake, mini-croissant. Amazing.
Sandwiches at the bar?

Down the street from Abarrote is the market, and shops around it selling the most amazing canned seafood. I know it sounds probably "not food" to think things in cans are good, but in Spain it is a different story. Not just beautiful packaging but also very high quality goods in the cans too.

In the market we returned to the lady who sold us the empanadas previously.

The variety of bread here was some of the best in Galicia. Spelt, rye, wholemeal, salt free. There was a wide variety.

She would answer questions, and was really proud of her bread.

I didn't eat anywhere near enough cheese there, so I will have to return with pockets fat and belly ready.
