So I thought this one could be all about the belly. Of which mine has grown considerably since being in Poland and even more since being in Adelaide. I forgot how able I was to pile large quantities of food, not all health giving, into my (some would say large) mouth. I have now converted that to putting lots of foreign foods into Marta's mouth. Some were spat out, others, well, they remain ingested and added to with many friends.
So this shall be a small tour of some of our trip foods.... in a round-a-bout way.
I will limit the commentary as there is plenty of photos..... I will also have to add another entry for food. As you can imagine, I have taken a few food pics!
Firstly, Cocolat , a fantastic place to lose yourself. I have just finished reading the book Chocolat that was later made into a movie with some guy called Jonny Depp. This place brought back memories of the book, although a little less French (and less homely)!
It was quite amusing. When the waitress saw me about to take a photo of the brownie, she took the plate back and made it look prettier..... maybe she should have done it this was as a start...
I think those two frogs are making more frogs, do you think the balls are frog eggs?
They even make Carrotcake seem enticing!
Apricot Brandy? Yes please!
Caramel Craze looks the goods!
Looking like they could run out of chocolate.
Marty fell in love with Adelaide's fresh sushi, it is a huge difference to the sort we get in Poland. This one was for lunch by the beach.
A Marilyn's coffee with Jess Bles.
One of my childhood favourites, every Saturday morning for about a year!
The old Cockle, I remember my grandparents making these.
A solid favourite in the FUCC lunch caper. The chocolate roll.Marty with our purchases at the Bluebird Bakery , my after footy/cricket haunt in the old school days.
The Frogs from Vanderzwan Bakery at Glenelg. Being meringue, I am guessing they look better than they taste.
A classic Australian Icon, Arnotts. Proud maker of Pizza and BBQ Shapes, and the beloved Tim Tam.
Marty now wants to move to Adelaide, only because of Sushi Train. A great place, always busy and full of smiles, except for the people waiting in the line with drool running down their chin.
Ten plates later, the end of sushi, as I ate it.
Haighs, the highlight of Australian Domestic chocolate. Sparkling Shiraz is a favourite drink, why not chocolate?
Marty and the truffle. And halfway through the journey.
Next the stamped dark choc-mint buttons, they were free with the purchases.
Then Marty attempts to decapitate a Dark Chocmint Frog.
Then one day my sister and her lovely friend Y took us to Yum Cha. I heart Yum Cha!
Tapioca balls anyone?
Why not a prawn wrap.....
Prawn cakes....
Prawn moneybags.....
The locals love it!
Hairy prawn balls? Yes, Marty made us order lots of Prawns.
At the end of the day the chilli is gone, the savoury is downed, the only thing left is.....
Mango pudding, and we live to eat another day.... certainly not needing to eat again after the aforementioned and more.
